Commenting on the announcement, Eve Burton, senior vice president and chief legal officer, said: "Jon and Mark have been part of our remarkable team for 15 years and have been instrumental in building the Office of General Counsel into a full-service operation dedicated to helping Hearst's more than 360 businesses. They have exhibited their leadership at the negotiating table and in the courtroom; Jon has argued and won cases in courts across the country and Mark has played a leading role in Hearst's largest transactions. Both are trusted advisers to our business leaders. Reflecting the new model we have built, they will share responsibility for day-to-day management of the Office of General Counsel and continue their active M&A practices and litigation."
