New editor in chief named in Lawton, Okla. 5/1/18

An award-winning journalist with 18 years of newspaper experience recently began his duties as editor in chief of The Lawton (Okla.) Constitution.

Jacob Brower was publisher of two small community newspapers in Missouri – The Monett Times and Cassville Democrat – prior to being named to this new position at The Constitution.

Publisher/editor retires in Moultrie, Ga. 4/30/18

Dwain Walden, known affectionately as the "red-headed editor" of The Moultrie Observer, has retired, capping a 46-year career at the paper. He has served as the paper's public face in the community for decades.

Jeff Masters, veteran south Georgia newspaper executive, has assumed Walden's publisher duties. Newsroom manager Kevin Hall has been promoted to managing editor in charge of the news operation.

Ann Caulkins, The Charlotte Observer’s president and publisher, is stepping down after 12 years and will be succeeded by Rodney Mahone, a longtime media executive from Georgia.

Peter Imes takes reins as fourth-generation leader of The Dispatch 4/10/18

A fourth generation of the Imes family has taken the reins of The Commercial Dispatch in Columbus, Miss.

Birney Imes III, who has run the newspaper since 1996, has named his son Peter Imes to succeed him as publisher. Peter Imes previously held the position of general manager.
